This week in GPS Robotics was filled with plenty of building and designing robots for both the VEX teams and the field team. As the VEX building teams finish up designing their robots, the field team prioritized the building of the High Stakes VEX field. Additionally, a donated Hover-1™ Alpha E-Scooter was reassembled by our field team and was put together exquisitely.
In preparation for our very own mock “VEX High Stakes” competition, the field team has also began construction for the outer-border of the High Stakes field. There has also been sufficient progress with our 3D printed parts of the competition, with our first batch of 3D printed materials completed cleanly!
Tuesday Workshop
On Tuesday, October 1st we held our first GPS Robotics “Workshop.”
In these workshops, team members divide into two groups to expand on their knowledge on one of the following two options:
Engineering: Team members follow Mr. Papadopoulos to learn about the more advanced machines in engineering and how to safely navigate around them and make use of them.
Coding: Team members follow our coding lead Bradley Berman to learn the basics of C++ coding in the VEX pro code application in order to program a VEX robot.
These workshops will be held every Tuesday and will assist us in achieving pivotal skills for future VEX competitions.
