After weeks of non-stop hard work and dedication, GPS Robotics is pleased to announce we are at last prepared to compete in our first ever VEX Competition at the Carrollwood Clash, hosted at Carrollwood Day School! Competing in this VEX Competition will be a huge step for the GPS Robotics team by paving a path for the team in competing in many more competitions, but before we delve into more details, what has been conducting in the GPS Robotics work room?
To begin, Team B.O.B has finished in the building of the FRC Chassis, providing them with the basic experience that will aid the GPS Robotics team in building an FRC Robot in the near future. The GPS Robotics team has been slowly making steps to prepare for FRC while maintaining a steady pace for their current competitions and projects. Moreover, Team B.O.B has resumed their 3D modeling in CAD (Computer-Assisted Design) software, with finishing the truck designs and starting their journey with 3D printers.
Both VEX teams Viltrumites and Metalheads have at last finished attaching all the parts to their robots and coding them for optimal driving and controlling. With both teams having a great intake and clamp system, they are ready to show off their designs at the VEX Competition on November 16th! Pictures of their finished designs and robots are shown below!

New 3D Printers!
We are happy to finally announce the GPS Robotics team now is the proud owner of 5 brand new Dremel DigiLab 3D45 3D Printers! Each of these printers have been tested and work perfectly well, pictures of the tested prints can be found below:

Team B.O.B has been acquiring skills pertaining how these 3D printers function. For example, team B.O.B learned the nozzle that dispenses filament is called the “extruder” and the extruder can reach temperatures up to 280°C! Safety and functional knowledge will allow expansive opportunities, as being able to operate a 3D printer will provide vital parts for an FRC Robot.
Carrollwood Clash Ready!
As the week ends, the GPS Robotics team prepares themselves to compete in the Carrollwood Clash hosted at Carrollwood Day School! This will be our first time ever competing in a VEX competition and team members are ready for anything that comes at them.
Both VEX Teams Viltrumites and Metalheads have officially finished their VEX Robots and all there is left is to use their practice and skills they have gained over these weeks to give it there all at Carrollwood Day School on November 16th, 11:00AM. This will be an important learning experience no matter the outcome.

It’s official, GPS Robotics is sponsored by NASA!
With applying to the Robotics Alliance Project, the GPS Robotics team has been given a NASA Sponsorship Grant that will provide us with a money grant when the FRC Kickoff sets in motion on the Fourth of January, 2025. In return, the GPS Robotics team will give their all with what NASA has provided to us in the FIRST Robotics Competitions.
This has been the longest week for the GPS Robotics team, with the VEX teams working on robots to as late as 8:00 p.m.! This additional time has proven beneficial for the teams, as they have been able to finish robots on schedule and has allowed the team to participate in the Carrollwood clash VEX Competition. Wish the GPS Robotics team luck and ample time to rest after such a long week!
