Friday
The club focused on getting work done after kickoff to get everything set up. The kickoff led us off to do much preparation in not only preparing the skills everyone will need for FRC but to also get the robot actually set up to compete.
Electrical
worked on soldering connections and using the heat gun. It’s important to build confidence in using tools since our members may need to use them for the robot. They are connecting wires with these tools so that when competition comes, they can do so with ease and without hurting themselves or others. Safety always comes first and building confidence will help them be safer as they aren’t scared to use the tools available to them.
Mechanical
worked on CAD to design robot parts and fill elements. Designing on CAD allows the mechanical team to visualize and execute parts for the robots. They can design the parts on CAD to the desired shape and size then 3D print out the design to see if improvement is needed. They then do any necessary improvisions and plan out where that part is necessary on the robot.
Programming
worked on revising and checking the code for the robot. They are revising the coding created for the robot t move and shoot as necessary. They change any mistakes and add new code as needed. They are essentially making sure that when competition comes, the robot can actually move as intended.
Media
worked on an engineering notebook for the judges and the mascot designs. The engineering notebook is for the judges to see our process of making, our team members, everyone’s positions, and information about our team and what we do. At this point, the team lead of media is just putting on finishing touches to make it look pretty and professional. It’s important to showcase professionalism, empathy, hard work, and good craftsmanship during competition at all times and this notebook is apart of that. The mascot is in design revision and we asked some club members how they felt about previous and current designs.
