This week, we worked on putting all finishing touches on kitbot and getting everything ad everyone is competition ready. We had to review everything safety and get everything checked for functionality.
Monday
Mechanical
worked on putting finishing touches on the kitbot, completing lists of necessities, and cleaned up the closet. The kitbot was actually working when it hit the club floor but it needed some last touches of working out any malfunctions. They also needed to make and attach the bumpers for the robot. They also needed that list fully done and the closet semiorganized.
Electrical
worked on list completion and helping mechanical with the electrical bits of the kitbot. They needed to fix up some of the previous electrical work and make sure everything worked on their end. They essentially needed to get the bot moving smoothly rather than not smoothly.
Programming
worked on the kitbot and GitHub. They needed to work out anything wrong on their end and used GitHub for the coding. It’s important that this is done correctly lest we try to fix a mechanical or electrical issue that never even existed.
Media
worked on taking pictures, fixing the website, and sponsors. We had to take pictures of people working for the newsletter and the sponsor information had to be correctly displayed on the website. Then, the lead had to work on fixing some issue the calendar and sponsoring pages had with design and bugs.
Tuesday
Mechanical
worked on getting the closet finished, getting the metal finished up, and then either Cad, prototype intakes, specifically over the bumper intakes, use the existing bumpers and see if a churro for backing is necessary or make more progress on the hub and bump. Getting everything finished up was important today.
Electrical
worked on getting all the wiring fixed up. They needed to double then triple check that everything on electricals end works. They will continue to do this throughout the process of building.
Programming
worked on repairing any issues in GitHub. Like electrical they will continue to check this many times through the building process and afterwards as a final check. They will practice on GitHub as well but are focused on getting the kitbot over and done with.
Media
worked on pins and mascot designs. We need to make lots of extra designs for the mascot to ensure fallbacks and hopefully getting approval at some point. The newsletter is written week to week and we taught everyone to use the pin machine.
