This week we focused on preparing for the Orlando competition with FRC. We’re so glad to compete with our peers of other highschools in March and we’re getting ready to have some good competition and plenty of fun.
Monday
Mechanical
Finished an attempt of the robot. They got to move it around and see it shoot. They began to correct it and see where things could be changed on their end
Electrical
Worked on helping media and starting on fixing the robot. They worked on issues the robot on their end. They also gave feedback on the designs media made for pins
Programming
Workes on button intake. They essentially made it possible to turn the robot on and off with one button rather than two. The programming lead drove the bot outside, testing its movement and shooting capabilities. They needed to make fake code so they can make real code later.
Media
Worked on redoing pin designs and doing the newsletter. We got feedback from the president and electrical. We’re going to make adjustments based on that and hope to get another design out soon.
Tuesday
Mechanical
worked on Onshape with the robot and Barna, the team sponsor and robotics teacher, instructed on building the robot proper. He gave advice on building it and helped build it hands on.
Electrical
worked on applying the crimps they got recently to the wires on a battery. The robot needs plenty of battery related stuff since we don’t want to run out while testing
Programming
worked on the intake coding after yesterday. They need to work on it some more and make it real code. Finish fake code and apply real code for the robot.
Media
worked on pins and the newsletter. We needed to get out new designs and such. We got help from a supervisor to get everything sorted out in club.
Wednesday
Mechanical
Worked on getting kicker done. The shooter has some issues with the 3D part, stopping a smooth transition into the slot.
Electrical
Worked on teaching students in electrical. Mostly getting all their skills and answering any questions.
Programming
Worked on psuedocode and path planning, should be trying to get vision and teleop students situated
Media
Worked on getting pins and stickers printed are being printed. We got everything cut out and made a hundred or so pins.
Thursday
Mechanical
Worked on getting the bottom part of the robot fully set. Used the Onshape Rebuilt Work In Progress as a guideline to get everything set up.
Electrical
Worked on wiring the radio, crimping, and testing the robot. They needed to test the radio and other components to make sure all the electric components work.
Programming
Wirked on the intake subsystem and shooter subsystem. They needed to split up the work between them to get everything done when the real bot is finished with mechanical and electrical things. The programming lead helped with mechanical. He coded a simple 2 motor kraken drive, kraken drive, and 2 linear activator was tested.
Media
Worked on getting the rest of the pins pressed and going. We also wrote the newsletter and did the documentation.
